2-Year full time Master Degree in Tourism Administration (MA-TA) (UTKAL UNIVERSITY)

The MA in Tourism Administration (MA-TA) programme equips students with skills of a Business School Graduate and additional skills relevant to the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. The programme was started in 1991 with an intention of training that sort of people who would be best suited to take up the Administrative and Managerial challenges of the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality industry. The MA-TA course is a two-year full time – four semester programme affiliated to Utkal University, the oldest state university of Odisha The training programme in MA-TA focuses on the development of the whole person with required skills and attitudes to meet the needs of the changing and challenging social scenario.

The programme covers the general management and industry driven curriculum and equips students with the analytical, strategic and policy-making skills required for sustainable tourism management within both commercial business enterprises and the public sector tourism industry.


Pedagogy: The RCMA pedagogy comprises interactive class room sessions with active students’ participation through case presentations, quizzes and exposure to real life situations through frequent seminars and workshops conducted by executives invited from travel and tourism industry. The course and teaching pedagogy are carefully geared up to suit to a highly competitive and fast changing tourism environment.


Internship: Students are placed in different organizations for a period of four months during their project work in the 4th semester. It provides them with ample opportunity for practical application of the theoretical knowledge gained through class room teaching and helps in shaping their career.

Admission:
 
Eligibility Criteria:

 
Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university. Admission to the MA-TA programme is strictly based on merit of the candidates as judged by their academic records and performance in the interview.


Application Procedure:

 
Applications are invited from eligible candidates in the prescribed form for admission. Prescribed application forms and prospectus are available in the department office on payment of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred) in cash or in shape of demand draft favouring “Regional College of Management”, payable in Bhubaneswar.


Documents Required:

 
Attested photocopies of HSC, Plus Two, Plus Three certificates and mark sheets, two passport size coloured photographs are to be submitted along with the application form.


Original HSC, Plus Two, Plus Three certificates and mark sheets along with CLC and conduct certificate and migration certificate (in case of change of university) & two stamp size coloured photographs are to be submitted during the time of admission. All original certificates and mark sheets except the CLC, conduct certificate and migration certificate will be returned after verification.

Hostel Fee:
 
Rs. 18,000/- (Rupees Eighteen Thousand) per year towards room charges only, to be paid at the time of admission in shape of separate demand draft drawn in favour of “Regional College of Management”, payable in Bhubaneswar.
